PhD Research

I am currently researching the capacity of archerfish Toxotes sp. for social learning and imitation, as well as researching aspects of their group dynamics. My collaborators include Nick A R Jones, Luke Rendell, Michael Webster and Keith Sillar from the University of St Andrews, and Stefan Schuster from the University of Bayreuth.

MSc(Res) Research

During my MSc(Res), I researched the secondary dispersal mechanisms of samaras, with a focus on sycamore seeds Acer pseudoplatanus. I published several papers on the subject with my supervisor and co-author Graeme Ruxton.

BSc (Hons) Research

For my BSc (Hons) thesis, I studied the nest structure of blue tits Cyanistes caeruleus as part of the Phenoweb team, working with Aly Phillimore. The results were published in the Journal of Avian Biology in January 2021.
